Earth Day is Thursday

Earth Day is a day designed to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth’s environment.

As part of our commitment to the environment, in 2008, ASL was one of the first national engravers/printers to have earned Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain-of-Custody certification from the Rainforest Alliance’s SmartWood program.

This certification reflects a growing trend in the paper and printing industries, where companies are making more environmentally and socially responsible supply chain decisions.  We made the decision to apply for this certification to further demonstrate to our customers and partners that we support responsibly produced forest goods.  This is just one example of our ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility.

FSC certification ensures that forestry operations meet a set of environmental, social, and economic criteria covering compliance with laws and international treaties, land-use, and indigenous peoples’ rights, community relations, biodiversity conservation and maintenance of high conservation value forests, among other things.

What do the ASL environmentally responsible product selection and our FSC certification mean for your firm?  As discussed, there is no one solution to help your firm “Go Green.”  The process is ongoing and requires flexibility and commitment on various levels.  If you’ve already chosen to go green with ASL, thank you for your business. Please continue to discuss with your account manager your plans for greening your business and your materials. We pledge to continue to research and introduce new environmentally responsible products to meet your needs.

If you haven’t yet decided to use the single source advantage of ASL, just give us the opportunity! We offer a broad selection of environmentally responsible products and the expertise to help you identify and purchase the products that will best fit with your firm’s needs.
